At our practice, Trang Tran, OD & Esther Tan, OD, we are very pleased to have two highly regarded optometrists on staff. They are Dr. Trang T. Tran and Dr. Esther H. Tan. Our
Paradise optical store optometrists are able to fit patients with all types of specialty contact lenses including bifocal, monovision, toric, and gas permeable lenses. We also perform comprehensive eye exams and do ocular disease evaluations and treatments for eye infections and problems such as dry eye and allergic eyes. During the first part of our contact lens exam, the visual acuity of the patient will be tested. If it is determined that they are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism, our eye doctor will be able to provide them with a new prescription for contact lenses or eyeglasses which will have them seeing clearly and crisply once again.
As part of a contact lens exam, or a comprehensive eye exam, our patients will have their eye health thoroughly evaluated by our optometrist. During the course of the exam, eyes will be evaluated for: dry eye; cataracts; macular degeneration; diabetic retinopathy; glaucoma; retinal tears; and other problems of the cornea, macula, and retina. If the patient is having a contact lens exam he or she will have the curvature of their cornea measured as well as the size of their iris measured. This is because contact lens prescriptions include information about the size and curve of the patient’s eyes. This ensures that the contact lenses will fit the patient’s eyes exactly.
